Resemblance vs Semblance
二者都是说“长得像”，但是二者完全不能当作近义词或者同义词使用。
Resemblance指的是二者相比非常相像。比如对尼古拉二世和乔治五世就可以说
There is a resemblance between Nicolas II and George V.
但是semblance强调的是外表很像，但是实际上不是。比如尼古拉二世就有当时英国国外的semblance.
She is trying to maintain some semblance of a personal life.
她努力维持个人生活的假象，但是她并没有个人生活。
